Frequently Asked Questions

We felt and batten your roof as we progress through the works using a waterproof membrane.

As part of the competent roofer scheme we have to check your insulation levels, but can only do this once the roof coverings have been taken off. If you can get into the loft, measure the thickness of the insulation that’s already there. Since 2003, current building regulations recommend a depth of at least 270mm (mineral or glass wool).

If we are re-roofing your property then more than likely yes, we will need to place a skip as close to your property as possible.

That all comes down to personal preference, it would be beneficial for us when quoting if you knew or had a rough idea of the colour and type of tile you preferred. You can take a look on the Marley, Redland, Crest websites which will give you a good indication of the colour and choices out there, and our friendly estimators will help point you in the right direction!

No, unless you specifically ask for them to be done at the same time of the roof or the estimator can clearly see they have deteriorated and brings it to your attention.

If your house was built before 1999 then there is a chance it may be on your roof. This is usually in the form of under-cloak on your gable end, or it could be in your soffits. If we do find it in the course of our works, then we must stop works until it can be safely removed or encapsulated. We will advise accordingly if this does happen, and we won’t leave your roof open!
